A wild crop that sprouts with the winter rains in summer-dry climates; may be planted any time in gardens. Fall-sown crops will overwinter under row covers and cold frames in areas as cold as zone 5. good edible groundcover under shrubs/trees. Clip leaves for salad-they regrow quickly-or harvest whole. Flowers edible.
