BOTANICAL NAME : Sesamum indicum
Start seeds in flats or sow ¼ inch deep and 10" apart directly into beds after all danger of frost has passed. Needs very warm conditions and rick soil with lots of calcium. Keep soil moist until seedlings are established, but after that water sparingly. Does best under dry, warm conditions. Harvest when seedpods mature and dry-out. Pop the pods open by hand or break them up with hands or feet and wind-winnow.
