Start in flat 10 days before last in early spring or as early in spring as possible. Transplant in garden 5" apart when 2-3" high. Prefers a dry soil that isn't too acid. Likes some phosphorus, potassium and nitrogen. Water moderately; cease watering when 85% of seedheads are golden; harvest when nearly all are. Dry fully before threshing/storing. A six-rowed variety with awns.
