SECTION: Herbs, Catnip, Nepeta cataria
Aromatic perennial mint, more drought-tolerant than other mints. Grows to 3', with downy, pale green foliage and 4” flower spikes. Leaves make a pleasant tea with calming, and antispasmodic effects. Cats often love plants to pieces.
One packet will plant 75+ sq ft when using 15" spacing in the bed.

WHEN TO PLANT: Early spring
PACKET LABEL INSTRUCTIONS: Does well in almost any good soil, but really thrives in moderately rich, well-drained sandy soil. Heavy soil inhibits essential oil production. Does well in shade, but really prefers sun. Sow seed in early Spring or late Fall, initially on 5" centers and thin when 4" high. Lightly cover seed. Water moderately. Weed. Use both leaves and flowering tops and dry in shade
