BOTANICAL NAME: Triticum monococcum, Formerly Einkorn homemanii
DESCRIPTION: Another strain
of Einkorn, the most ancient type
of wheat. When the 5,300-year old
body of the "Iceman" was discovered
preserved by ice in the Alps,
grains of Einkorn were found in his
belongings. We were thrilled to find
a farmer who is growing this ancient
variety so that we could make bigger
packets.Spring-planted. 2 1/2 to 3 ft
tall. Very rare.
