PACKET INSTRUCTIONS: Plant seeds in flats, or sow directly into the garden. Water frequently for best results. Leaves and stems may begin to be cut about 8 weeks after sowing. Plants can produce two or three cuttings. Loves heat and moisture; this is ofter grown in high summer to substitute for greens like spinach. The leaves are eaten raw in salads or cooked - much used in soups, where it adds a thicker consistency.

DESCRIPTION: Also known as Verdolaga, Pigweed, Little Hogweed, or Pusley. An erect growing perenial to 18 in. in height. Leaves resemble the common garden weed in taste and shape but are larger. Easy to pick. Loves heat. Does well in any garden soil. Needs moisture to germinate, but once established can tolerate severe drought. Fleshy stems and leaves good raw or cooked. Ayurvedic herb.
