DESCRIPTION:True peppermint is propagated by plants; this is a very similar wild cousin. Used for tea, cough drops, candies, etc. Leaves and flowers make great-tasting, stomach-settling tea. Relaxes muscles and relieves nausea.

GROWING INSTRUCTIONS: Wild relative of peppermint. Start seed in flats in good soil or mix: Tamp surface flat, sprinkle seeds, press in and keep moist-requires light for germination, don't bury the seed. Transplant 12" apart to an area with full sun or partial shade, and well prepared soil. Germinates in 10-14 days. Has a shallow root system, and readily forms runners-some means should be provided to keep it from spreading. This perennial will grow to a height of 30", with edible flowers.
