DESCRIPTION:Easy-to-grow, hardy and handsome plant with large hand-shaped leaves and spires of pink flowers to 5'. Grows in any sunny spot with reasonable drainage. Used to calm anxiety and heart palpitations. The Latin name reflects its long use as a heart tonic. Also used for a variety of women's health issues.

GROWING INSTRUCTIONS: Easy to grow from seed. Plant in early spring or late summer/early fall. Germination will be best when seed gets a few weeks of moist cold before sprouting, so plant in pots or flat in fall or very early spring (or use fridge). Average soil and sun or partial shade will do for this adaptable plant. Needs moderate water, good drainage. Hardy zones 4-8.
