GROWING INSTRUCTIONS :The hard seed should be soaked overnight or notched with a knife or file. Plant 1-2 weeks after danger of frost is past, 6" away from wall or trellis, in full sun or partial shade. Does well in any garden soil that does not have too much nitrogen-or-you won't get many flowers. Does like some bone meal and compost, can mulch in dry climate. Climbs well. Self-sows readily. Flowers from early summer until frost. Cut flowers: use buds.
