BOTANICAL NAME: Panicum miliaceum
DESCRIPTION: Very quick maturing, considered the choicest in flavor if you can hull it. High alkaline content counteracts acids and makes it more easily digested. Grows 1-4' high, has hairy stems and compact to loose panicles with a profusion of small, round seeds. Not easy to hull, but try an old-fashioned laundry wringer.
