What is a herb? "Historically most plants that can be categorized as herbs contain some substance (somewhere in the plant) that, at one time, has been used in medicines." Yet today herbs are as prevalent in cooking, both as aromatic seasonings and in the form of potherbs. Herbs as companions in the garden have great power to repel or destroy insect pests. Some herbs satisfy all these categories.
We have a substantial offering of herb seed in this catalog. Beyond that listing are many vegetables, flowers, and grains that also qualify, for example, we currently list Calendula as an herb.
