Vigna unguiculata spp.
Asparagus Bean. Not really a snap bean, but used like one. Vigorous vines to 10’. From tropical Asia, thrives on heat - a challenge in the North. We've settled on this green variety; it is day neutral and requires less heat and humidity than other types. Thin, red stringless pods 12-30” long are excellent snap beans when young. Young leaves are a good potherb.
