GROWING INSTRUCTIONS: Dislikes cold soil. Sow in flats 2-3 weeks before setting out. Set-out or direct seed 3-4 weeks after last frost, when soil is warm. Prefers light soil with well-rotted manure or compost worked in. Needs ample food and water. Mulch or cultivate until vines form. Grown on fence or trellis to save space. Cucumbers love heat but don't actually like full sun all day-it makes them bitter. They do best with morning sun and shade from the strongest sun-try the east side of a house or fence or of a tomato bed, works well.
