BOTANICAL NAME: Brassica oleracea var. italica
DESCRIPTION: English variety ready in early Spring which has an excellent flavor, is productive and reliable. Needs to be planted in early August, ready in arly Spring before other varieties. Many small, sweet purple heads form all over the plant. Will survive nighttime temps of 15 degrees but will need protection if colder or if it lasts all day.
These need to go through a winter to produce their heads, so if planted in the spring, they will not produce until the following spring.
