PACKET INSTRUCTIONS: Start seeds in flat 10 days before last frost in or as early in spring as possible. Transplant in garden 5" apart when 2-3" high. Or direct-sow in the garden as soon as the soil can be worked in very early spring (they can tolerate some frost). They prefer a dry soil that isn't too acidic and moderate fertility. Water moderately but cease watering when 85% of the seed heads are golden; harvest when all are golden. Dry fully before threshing and storing.
