BOTANICAL NAME: Amaranthus sp.
DESCRIPTION: We are so excited about this new amaranth. Unique variety with freckled leaves (even as seedlings), and plumed heads of golden and red. White seed. Named after our beloved intern from Equador, Fernanda, who was also short and freckled. Ellen has been working with these shorter amaranths for several years now and this one is now fairly stable, but it will have some diversity. The plants grow 3-4 ft tall, very early.
