DESCRIPTION :A productive and beautiful amaranth from Golden Rule's Ellen Bartholomew, who has trailed so many unusual grains over the years. 5-7 feet with leaves of both red and green. Tops vary from golden through purple, with more than one color on each plant. A preponderance of deeper, darker colors, but the seeds themselves are white.

GROWING INSTRUCTIONS: Start seeds in flats or sow 1/8 inch deep and 12" apart directly into beds after all danger of frost has passed. Keep soil moist until seedlings are established. Loves heat, and easy to grow. Harvest when seedheads mature and dry out. Can be threshed and winnowed by hand, by rubbing the heads over a sheet or tarp and wind or fan-winnowing. This variety is quite variable, with seedheads varying from orange through purple and several shapes.
